EPICRANIUM
A broad muscle formed by two muscles joined by the aponeurosis tendon
EPICRANIUS or OCCIPITOFRONTALIS
Muscle that extends from the forehead to the top of the skull, it raises the eyebrows or draws the scalp forward.
FRONTALIS
Muscle located at the nape of the neck and draws the scalp back.
OCCIPITALIS
Muscle located in front of the ear
AURICULARIS(aw-rik-ya-la-ris) ANTERIOR
EAR MUSCLE
Muscle located above the ear
AURICULARIS SUPERIOR
EAR MUSCLE
Muscle located behind the ear
AURICULARIS POSTERIOR
EAR MUSCLE
Located between the eyebrows.
Controls the eyebrows, drawing them in and downward

Eye/Nose muscle
Located above the eyelids
Function to raise the eyelid
LEVATOR PALPEBRAE SUPERIOR
eye/nose muscle
Circles the eye socket
Function to close the eyelid
ORBICULARIS OCULI
EYE/NOSE MUSCLE
Located between the eyebrows across the bridge of the nose
Function- draws brows down and wrinkles the are across the bridge of the nose
PROCERUS
EYE/NOSE MUSCLE
Circle the mouth
Responsible for contracting, puckering and wrinkling the lips, as in kissing or whistling
ORBICULARIS ORIS
MOUTH MUSCLE
Consist of three parts. Is located above the upper lip
Raises both the nostrils and the upper lip, as in expressing distaste
QUADRATUS LABII SUPERIOR
MOUTH MUSCLE
Located below the lower lip
Pulls the lower lip down or to the side
As is expressing sarcasm
QUADRATUS LABII INFERIOR
MOUTH MUSCLE
Located at the tip of the chin
Pushes the lower lip up and/or wrinkles the chin
As in expressing doubt
MENTALIS
