Muscles: Superficial Layer Flashcards
General Partial Origin
All take partial origin from a common tendon from the lateral epicondyle or the supra condylar line above it
Innervation of all muscles is?
Radial nerve and its branches
Brachioradialis: O & I
O: From lateral supracondylar ridge
I: On distal radius above styloid process
Brachioradialis: Action and Innervation
Flexes forearm at elbow
Innervated by main trunk of radial nerve
Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus: O&I
O: From lateral supracondylar ridge
I: On base of 2nd metacarpal
Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus: Pathway and Innervation
Passes through the 2nd compartment under extensor retinaculum
Innervated by main trunk of radial nerve
Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis: O&I
O: From lateral epicondyle
I: On base of 3rd metacarpal
Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis: Pathway and Innervation
Passes through the 2nd compartment under extensor retinaculum
Innervated by deep branch of radial nerve
Extensor Digitorum: O&I
O: From lateral epicondyle
I: As extensor hood to middle and distal phalanges of 4 fingers
Extensor Digitorum: Pathway and Innervation
Passes through 4th compartment under extensor retinaculum
Innervated by posterior interosseous nerve
Extensor Digiti Minimi: O&I
O: From lateral epicondyle
I: On extensor hood of little finger
Extensor Digiti Minimi: Pathway and Innervation
Passes through 5th compartment under extensor retinaculum
Innervated by posterior interosseous nerve
Extensor Carpi Ulnaris: O&I
O: From lateral epicondyle
I: On base of 5th metacarpal
Extensor Carpi Ulnaris: Pathway and Innervation
Passes through 6th compartment under extensor retinaculum
Innervated by posterior interosseous nerve
Aconeus: O&I
O: From lateral Epicondyle
I: On upper 1/4 of ulna
