It originates from spinous process of C2 vertebra

Rectus capitis major
Obliquus capitis inferior

It inserts into lateral part of inferior nuchal line of occipital bone
Where does rectus capitis minor originate?
It originates from posterior tubercle on posterior arch on C1 vertebra
Where does rectus capitis minor insert?
It inserts into medial third of inferior nuchal line
What is origin of obliquus capitis inferior?
It originates from spinous processes of C2 vertebra
Where does obliquus capitis inferior insert?
It inserts on transverse process of C1 vertebra ( name is misleading since there is no attachment to capitis or cranium)
Where does obliquus capitis superior originate?
It originates from transverse process of C1
Where does obliquus capitis superior insert?
It inserts into occipital bone between superior and inferior nuchal lines
What is the superomedial portion of suboccipital triangle?
Rectus capitis posterior major
What is superolaterally portion of suboccipital triangle?
Obliquus capitis superior
