What nerve supplies dorsiflexors?
Deep peroneal/fibular nerve
What nerve supplies plantarflexors?
Tibial nerve
What nerve supplies ankle invertors?
Tibial nerve
Tibialis anterior
O: lateral condyle and proximal half of lateral surface of tibia
I: inferomedial aspect of medial cuneiform bone and base of first metatarsal bone
Extensor hallucis longus
O: medial surface of fibula
I: dorsal aspect of base of distal phalanx of big toe
Extensor digitorum longus
O: lateral condyle of tibia
I: dorsal aspects of bases of middle and distal phalanges of little toes
FIbularis/peroneus tertius
O: medial surface of fibula
I: dorsal aspect of base and body of 5th metatarsal bone
Gastrocnemius
O: condyles of femur
I: posterior surface of calcaneus via calcaneal tendon
Soleus
O: head of fibula
I: posterior surface of calcaneus via calcaneal tendon
Plantaris
O: lateral supracondylar line of femur
I: posterior surface of calcaneus
Fiburalis/peroneus brevis
O: lateral surface of fibula
I: tuberosity of 5th metatarsal bone
