Proximal attachments: gluteal surface of ilium posterior to posterior gluteal line, posterior iliac crest, posterior sacrum, sacrotuberous ligament
Distal: iliotibial tract, gluteal tuberosity of the femur

Proximal: gluteal surface of the ilium b/w the posterior and anterior gluteal lines
Distal: greater trochanter of the femur
Gluteus minimus
Proximal: gluteal surface if the ilium between the anterior and inferior gluteal lines
Distal: greater trochanter of the femur

Tensor fascia lata (TFL)
Proximal: anterior part of the iliac crest and adjacent gluteal surface, anterior superior iliac spine
Distal: lateral condyle of thd tibia via the iliotibial band (Gerdy’s tubercle)

Piriformis
Proximal: anterior aspects of the 2nd to 4th sacral segments, sacrotuberous ligament
Distal: medial side of the greater trochanter of the femur

Distal: tibial tuberosity via the tendon of the rectus femoris and the patella ligament, blends with the iliotibial tract

Vastus medialis
Proximal: lower medial part of the intertrochanteric line, medial aspect of the proximal femoral shaft, medial lip of the linea aspera, upper two thirds of the medial supracondylar line
Distal: tibial tuberosity via the tendon of rectus femoris and the patella ligaments, medial condyle of the tibia
Vestus intermedius
Proximal: upper two thirds of the anterior and lateral surfaces of the femur
Distal: tibial tuberosity via the tendon of rectus femoris and the patella ligament
Actions:
Biceps femoris
Proximal: medial part of the ischial tuberosity and sacrotuberous ligament (long head), lower half lateral lip of the linea aspera extending to the upper part of the lateral supracondylar line of the femur (short head)
Distal: head of the fibula
Actions:
Semitendinosus
Proximal: medial aspect of the ischial tuberosity
Distal: medial surface of the upper part of the shaft of the tibia
Actions:
Semimembranosus
Proximal: lateral aspect of the ischial tuberosity
Distal: posteromedial surface of the medial tibial condyle
