Murmurs Flashcards
What murmur is described below…..
Pronounced S1, opening snap, low pitched diastolic rumble at apex
Mitral Stenosis
What murmur is described below…..
Holosystolic best heard at apex & radiates to axilla. S2 may be widely split
Mitral Regurgitation
What murmur is described below…..
mid systolic click; possible late crescendo-decrescendo murmur at the apex
Mitral Valve Prolapse
What murmur is described below…..
Harsher SEM heard at base, 2nd right ICS which may radiate to the neck, transmitted through carotids.
Aortic Stenosis
What murmur is described below…..
high pitched, blowing decrescendo diastolic murmur heard at 3rd-4th ICS along LSB. Murmur may vary depending on AI severity.
Aortic Regurgitation
What murmur is described below…..
Systolic ejection murmur at 2nd ICS along LSB. May have a click if leaflets are thin.
Pulmonic Valve Stenosis
What murmur is described below…..
Without pulmonary HTN, low pitched diastolic murmur 3-4th ICS parasternal which increases w/ inspiration.
Pulmonic Valve Regurgitation
What murmur is described below…..
Diastolic crescendo-decrescendo before S1along LSB at 4th ICS. May be masked by a MS murmur
Tricuspid stenosis
What murmur is described below…..
high pitched systolic to pansystolic heard at 4th ICS and parasternal
Tricuspid regurgitation
