Microscopic: Medulla is fragmented, the cuticle is similar to wool, there is no clean tears.
Chemical: Residue was ash, more of a golden color. Stayed in a clump when pinched, but leaves come residue.
Silk
Microscopic: It is transparent with no cuticle pattern, the fiber has a slight twist.
Chemical: It burns quickly and the odor is horrendous, when burnt the residue is shiny and dark black. When crushed, the residue detaches off the unburnt fiber.
