Positive features of a home fused together.

Why would some people not consider their house home?
Because it does not reflect the idea of where they want to live

In Western society, women have lower homeownership rates than men
Why does it differ?
Because the accumulation of wealth does not benefit women as equally as men

There is evidence that women are less likely to remain as owner occupiers and are more likely to experience homelessness

People redefine their own space differently. Their relationships, family, work and interests develop and they accumulate more personal possessions
What is the significance of emotional investment?
Can get attached to homes. Therefore older people may not want to move into residential care
