Describe the downsides to switching
A
Due to spanning tree protocol, redundant network resources are unused and wasted. Single lines become bottlenecks and spanning tree protocol can take up to 5 min to resolve.

How is are the limitations of spanning tree protocol overcome?
A
Multilink trunk enables use of redundant links, thereby increasing bandwidth. Multilink trunking eliminate some spanning tree algorithms that would otherwise initiate during link failure.
