multi maneuvers Flashcards
Vmc set up
clearing turns
Manifold= 13”
As speed slows confirm:
Flaps up
Gear up
Cowl flaps open
Below 122kts= props full forward
Left throttle idle, right throttle full forward
keep hand on throttle
Vmc loss demo
Maintain heading with Zero Sideslip
Pitch for 1kt loss per second
Recover at first indication of stall OR loss of directional control
keep hand on throttle
Vmc no loss demo
Throttles Idle, Pitch down
~90kts= ONLY right throttle full
Pitch for Blue Line
Maintain blue line and heading with zero sideslip
keep hand on throttle
Vmc recovery
Bring left throttle up and right throttle down to 18”
Bring props to 2300
keep hand on throttle
steep turns
clearing turns
Slow speed below Va
Props stay at 2300, Manifold at 18”
Begin banking 45° (pvt) or 50° (commercial) left or right
Nothing until 30°
At 30°= manifold to 20”-21” and apply back pressure
Repeat for other side (commercial)
Once turn(s) are complete return manifold to 18” and maintain original altitude
accelerated stall
clearing turns
Manifold= 13”
Below 122kts= Props full
100kts= bank 30-45 degrees and apply back pressure
Recover at first indication
Pitch down, wings level, Manifold full forward
At positive rate of climb= Manifold 18”, Props 2300
keep handle on throttle
power off stall
clearing turns
Manifold= 15”
Below 153kts= Flaps 15, Gear down
Below 122kts= Flaps full, Props full
Pitch for 90kts then descend no more than 200’
Power idle, pitch up and recover at first indication
Recovery
Pitch down, Manifold full forward, flaps 15
Positive rate of climb= gear up
Above 90kts= Flaps up
Manifold 18”, Props 2300
power on stall
clearing turns
Manifold= 15”
Below 122kts= props full
Slow to Vr, Vx, or Vy
Manifold 18” and pitch up to stall
Recover at first indication
Recovery
Pitch down, manifold full forward
At positive rate Manifold 18”, Props 2300
slow flight
clearing turns
Manifold= 15”
Below 153kts= Flaps 15, Gear down
Below 122kts= Flaps full, Props full
Pitch for stall horn, mark speed and then hold that speed -0, +5kts, maintain altitude
At 80kts, Manifold= ~17”-19”
Recovery
Manifold Full forward, Flaps 15
Maintain Altitude= gear up
Above 90kts= Flaps up
Manifold 18”, Props 2300
engine failure before rotation
Chop the power
Come to a complete stop (rudder)
engine failure after rotation, gear DOWN
Chop the power and land
Come to a complete stop
engine failure below 4000
Pitch for Blue Line
Mixtures rich
Props full
Throttles full
Flaps up
Gear up
Identify- Dead foot= Dead Engine
Verify- lower throttle on that side
Feather dead engine
engine failure above 4000
Pitch for Blue Line
Mixtures rich
Props full
Throttles full
Flaps up
Gear up
Identify
Verify
Decide= Fix or Feather
eventually…
fuel pump LOW and keep it there until “off”
short field take off and climb
use maximum runway
2000 rpm
check engine gauges green
full throttle
brake release
rotate at 84
positive rate - gear up
climb at 84 until 700 msl
acc to 107
1050 msl - 25”/2500
normal take off and climb
line up with runway
2000 rpm
check gauges green
brake release
full power
rotate at 84, climb at 107
positive rate - gear up
1050 msl - 25”/2500
normal traffic pattern
take off (short field or normal)
climb at 107
1050 msl - 25”/2500
turn crosswind at 1300
at 1600 - 18”/2300
turn downwind
GUMPS
abeam touchdown - 15° flaps, 15”, pitch for 105
on base - full flaps, pitch for 100
on final - pitch for 95
engine failure in the pattern
pitch for blue line
full mixture, props, throttle
confirm flaps & gear are up
identify (dead foot)
verify (reduce throttle)
secure
maintain blue line & heading
single engine approach
brief approach way ahead of time
2 nm from course - engine failure
go through engine failure procedure (below a safe altitude)
get on course
1st radio call
one dot below glideslope - GUMPS
intercept glideslope
105 knots makes it more manageable (power setting…?)
make calls, maintain course, maintain glideslope
go visual at minimums
single engine landing
