MT Flashcards
5 components of primary respiratory mechanism:
- inherent motility
- CSF fluctuation
- reciprocal tension shifting w/in the dura matter system
- cranial motion (intra and inter bone)
- SI mobility
all subluxations are compensations for…:
stresses of life
Besides stress testing, the only other way to determine the side of category 2 dysfunction is?
side of the hypermobile 1st rib
cat 1 blocking:
- prone
- 6 mins
- mobilizes SI boots (non weight bearing part)
- breathing provides the motive force
- pt is passive during blocking
- blocks are directly diagonal at trochanter and ASIS
Cat 1 stress test
deep inhalation or exhalation + test the arm
Cat 1 subluxations occur d/t:
- breathing
- primary and secondary breathing and its relationship to central neuro function
Cat 2 blocking:
- removes sagittal plane iliac rotation (PI and AS) but NOT stressing SI Ligs
- High block horizontal, at iliac crest on short leg side
- diagonal block pointing up, at trochanter
Cat 2 stress test:
jump on one leg at a time flat footed + test the arm
cat 2 subluxations occur d/t?
- gravity
- ability to function normally on planet earth and its inherent gravity
cat 3 stress test:
-Valsalvas or bend over +test the arm
cat 3 subluxations occur d/t:
- breathing + gravity
- Loss of normal disc structure, w/ resulting loss of normal function
Category 1:
- craniosacral dural CNS
- if sacrum is fixated= can’t pump CSF
- CSF/CNS dysfunction
almost all chiropractic analytical procedures are based on the idea of:
bad in bad out
stress tests are based on changes in:
mechanoreception
how many synapses does the sensory input from proprioceptors need to pass through to get to the motor cortex?
