What are the reversible causes of cardiac arrest?
4Hs and 4Ts
Hypoxia, Hypovolaemia, Hypothermia, + Electrolytes
Thrombosis, Tension, Tamponade, Toxins
How much adrenaline is given in cardiac arrest?
When is it given?
1mg (1 in 10,000) IV
Given after PEA and then repeated every other cycle
Or given after three consecutive shocks, and then repeated every other cycle
How much Amiodarone is given during cardiac arrest?
When is it given?
300mg IV bolus followed by saline flush after three shocks
And additional, 150mg can be given after 5 shocks
What action is needed if witnessed cardiac arrest whilst on a monitor?
Give up to three successive shocks before CPR
What are the key features of paediatric resuscitation?
Give 5 initial rescue breaths
Then if no signs of life - start chest compressions

What are the key features of neonatal resuscitation?
Dry and stimulate
5 inflation breaths
Repeat if inadequate chest expansion
Chest compressions 3:1 ratio
