MSPU Flashcards
What change must be made if I wanted to increase rotor rpm?
Shorten the pitch change links, all 4 equally.
1 flat equals 1% change in RPM.
What pockets are wedge allowed in?
4, 7, and 9
What is the primary and secondary aim of rotor track and balance?
Primary is to reduce vibrations
Secondary is a goal of no more than 1/4” track split
How often should wedge be inspected and replaced?
Every 125 hrs
What are the torque specs on T/R balance weights?
80-100” Lbs
How many and what size are the tail rotor weights?
There are 3
- 3=1 gram
- 5=3 grams
- 7=11 grams
How many and what size are the main rotor weights?
2
113 grams
52 grams
Should only have weight on 2 blades
What is the max number of weights I can have on the main rotor?
9 not to exceed 1017 grams.
What would be cause to make a 2408-13-1 write up?
A caution indication on the PC-GBS software
What are the 4 tachs and where are they located?
Tach 1-Main rotor, mag pickup, from swashplate
Tach 2-Tail rotor, from swashplate
Tach 3-Nr, jumper wire to isolation transformer
Tach 4-generator tach from the HPSM
How many accelerometers are there and which ones are critical?
18 total,
4 & 5-T/R gearbox vertical and lateral
6-Intermediate gearbox
18-APU clutch
Critical meaning the MSPU system won’t work without.
How often am I required to download MSPU.
At least every 25 hrs (PMS)
What happens before you get a Vibe light in the cockpit?
If a gearbox exceeds a CI (condition indicator) it gets looked at for 45 seconds. MSPU does this 3 times before activating a light. So all total it gets at least 2 min 15 sec.
Phasing the M/R blades aligns the 4 main rotor blade assemblies to?
Each other
Where is the blade phasing tgt installed?
On the tip cap of the blade being aligned.
