High water content masses
- Hematoma
- Abscess
- Ganglion, synovial cyst, bursa
- Myxoid tumours (liposarcoma, myxoma)
- ,Nerve sheath tumour
- Chondrosarcoma
*If looks like cyst but in wrong location, need to give gad
Name the subtypes of liposarcoma and demographics
Well differential, de-differentiated, myxoid/small cell, and undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma
All occur in adults - UPS more common in older patients
Note: liposarcoma RARELY occurs in children, think lipoblastoma if you see a fatty mass
Age, demographics and imaging features desmoid tumours
Middle aged, F>M (pregnancy, estrogen)
Intra-abdominal associated Gardner syndrome
Low T1/T2 (can enhance)
Most common locations for extra-abdominal tumours: upper extremities, chest, flank and head and neck
Most common locations for intra-abdominal tumours:
abdominal wall, mesenteric root, retroperitoneum
