Large, knuckle-like, projection
Articulating: facet
Smooth flat surface eg in vertebrae
Non-articulating: Epicondyle
Smaller projection above the condyle (usually an attachment site for muscles and ligaments)
Eg medial epicondylitis of femur
Non-articulating: Trochanter
Blunt projection - only on femur
Eg greater and lesser trochanters of femur
Non-articulating: Tubercle
Small knob-like, rounded process
Eg greater tubercle of humerus
