Q
Buford complex
A
Variant labral anatomy, mimics tear
- Absent anterior superior labrum (1:00-3:00)
- Thickened middle glenohumeral ligament
2
Q
“Snapping hip” types; cause for each?
- External
- Internal
- Intra-articular
A
- External: IT band over greater troch
- Internal: iliopsoas over iliopectineal eminence OR femoral head
- Intra-articular: labral tears, loose bodies

Q
“Magic Angle”
- Angle = __ degrees?
- Which sequence eliminates this artifact?
- Why does that sequence work?
A
Artifactual intermediate signal intensity seen in some ligaments (PCL, patellar tendon)
- 55 degrees
- Should go away on T2; if it persists on T2, it’s real
- T2 has long TE; short TE sequences have this artifact (T1, PD, GRE)
