Elation
pure joy ,euphoria, triumph
Flat affect
absence of emotional expression, monotone voice
Elevated mood
confidence and more cheerful than normal but not necessarily concering
Emotional lability
Rapidly changing emotions, excessive emotional response
Circumstantial/ Tangential
Pattern of speech that is indirect that is delayed in reaching its goals
Clanging
rhyming words by sound instead of connecting by meaning
Derailment (loose assocaition)
persons idead slip beteen unrelated ideas
Echolalia
Parrot like repetition, senseless repetition of a word or phrase
Flight of ideas
accelerated speech with abrupt flow from topic to topic ideas are associated though
Neologism
word created by client
Perseveration
same verbal or motor response elicited to different stimuli
Pressured speech
increased in amout and volume- difficult to interrupt

Blocking
sudden interruption of thought - a block or loss of thought
Concrete thinking
non abstract thought- characterized by events or objects
Delusions
a flase beleif about external reality that is firmly sustained despite others input Delusions of: grandeur persecution (thin they are being singled out) Reference; they are always talking about me Thought Broadcasting: everyone can hear my thoghts Thought insertion: someone ids inserting thoughts into my mind
