Many of the producers that now bottle under this label were once well-known Cava brands. Gramona, Recaredo, Llopart, Nadal, Sabaté i Coca, and Torelló are founding members and three other producers joined in 2018. In 2019, the Consejo Regulador refused to allow this label to appear on any DO Cava wine and insisted that producers abandon all promotion of the name. In response, this group of producers chose to formally leave DO Cava and now exclusively produce under the category.
