MS Access Forms and Reports Flashcards

1
Q

What’s the difference between unbound and bound controls in a report?

A

Bound controls are tied to an underlying source (such as a table/query).

Unbound controls have no data source and instead display graphical content like titles, labels, lines, & rectangles.

Q

How do you enforce referential integrity in Access between tables?

A

You select “Cascade Update Related Fields” and “Cascade Delete Related Fields”.

This makes it so that if you, for example, change the primary key of an entity, Access will also change all references to the primary key to match the change you just made.
