Relapsing-remitting
A
relapses with full recovery or some remaining neurological symptoms and residual deficits. New symptoms must last at least 24 hours

Primary progressive
A
disease progression from the onset WITHOUT remission (steady decline of their symptoms since dx)

Secondary progressive
A
initial relapsing-remitting course followed by progression at a variable rate (w/o periods of remission)

Progressive-relapsing
A
rogressive disease from onset but with clear acute relapses that may or may not have some recovery or remission. (acute exacerbations in between; common in ppl who develop dz after 40y/o.)
