A zonal inspection
general inspection of a specific area of the aircraft or support equipment where an existing scheduled inspection is being accomplished.
Zonal inspections are performed in conjunction with
other scheduled maintenance tasks by the rating assigned.
light application of lubricating oil

Operate the emergency equipment release handle and ensure that
all three harness locking pins completely retract and lock easily.
Halon Portable Fire Extinguisher
Bromotrifluomethane (HALON 1301)
Halon extinguishers shall weigh within
4 oz. of indicated weight on decal with head and horn removed.
CO2 Portable Fire Extinguisher
Verify date of manufacture on portable fire extinguisher to ensure date of manufacture has not exceeded five years or will expire prior to next 180 day inspection.
CO2 Extinguishers shall weigh within
4 oz. of indicated weight on decal/nameplate, if weight not within 4 oz. the extinguisher must be replaced.
NACELLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER CONTAINERS
Pentafluoroethane, HFC-125
Verify nacelle fire extinguisher container hydrostatic test date;
10 years from date of manufacture or last hydrostatic test.
nacelle extinguisher container assembly weight loss shall not exceed
0.25 pound difference from most recent weight specified on decal. Container assembly that does not meet weight loss criteria must be rejected and replaced with an RFI container assembly.
Portable oxygen bottle
1600 psi minimum.
Portable fire extinguishers
seal wire intact
Check engine fire extinguishers
600 +/- 50 psi at 70°F.
SMOKE IN CABIN
Inspect, and clean cabin pressurization outflow regulator and safety valve if necessary.
