anxiety definition
state of nervousness
competitive trait anxiety
when person feels nerves before most games
be because of a persons genetic make up
displayed during all competitions, regardless of importance of event and possibility of winning
athlete feels nerves every time

may not feel capable enough

bodily changes e.g increased HR, sweating, muscle tension
often worse at start of game and get better as game goes on
when are cogntive and somantic anxieties shown

somatic-occurs way before that
just bc can not phycailly see perfomer stressing does not mean they are not stressing

player may just give answer they think they should give rather then being honest
may not understand the question
answers may depend on mood state
(answers after win may not be same as after a loss)
questions may be unappropriate so biased results are given
