Are you allowed to serve more than one term on the board?
No, you cannot serve two full consecutive terms. The only time you can serve more than 5 years is if you were appointed half way through the previous term to serve for another member.

The president of the board. He is required to be at all board meetings and if he cannot be there, the vice president must.

No. You only have to make sure the pharmacy is locked when the pharmacist isn’t there which doesn’t include temporary absences like breaks.
How can you store prescription records? Do they have to be on-site?
You have to keep schedule 1 and 2 separate from all other drug records. You can keep the 3, 4, and 5 controls with the legend drugs, but they have to be denoted by a red letter C once inch in height at the bottom right have corner of the script or with a coding system imbedded into the computer that denotes them as a controlled substance.
Are Rx Only drugs required to be in the prescription department?
Yes, or in a locked pharmacy only storage room.
Do you have to keep hard copies of prescriptions on site?

Not specified in AL law, so no.

Yes, this must be allowed by the supervising pharmacist before hand. There must be written orders for whatever the staff got out of the cabinet and proof that it was done. Drugs must be inventoried at least every 30 days, and the activity of the cabinet use must be audited at least once a month.
If a nurse must get into the pharmacy for emergency use of a medication after hours, what is the procedure?
The nurse must document the order that she was given, the patient name, room number, drug name, drug strength, amount, time, date, and signature of nurse that removed it. That paper must be left in the container from which the drug was removed.
Can out-of-state pharmacies mail prescriptions to people in AL?
Yes, but that pharmacy and one of their pharmacists must be licensed int he state of Alabama.

Yes, these products must be kept behind the counter, can only be sold to the patient after consultation with the pharmacist. The name, ingredients, directions for use, and any necessary warnings.

Yes, as long as they are not labeled as Rx ONLY by the FDA. Certain brands of codeine are in this category.
