Movement Diagnosis UE Flashcards
Scapular downward rotation syndrome
Insufficient upward rotation
static position may be downwardly rotated, adducted abducted or normal
Scapular depression syndrome
Insufficient elevation is primary impairment
Scapular depression occurs at arm elevation
Scapular Abduction Syndrome
excessive scapular abduction
increased scap abduction occurs in arm elevation
Scapular winging syndrome
Winging during flexion and extension
Due to weakness of serratus anterior
Scapular Anterior tilting / internal rotation syndrome
insufficient posterior tilting
Scapular elevation syndrome
excessive scap elevation
dominating upper trap or levator scapulae
Humeral Anterior Glide syndrome
excessive anterior, insufficient posterior glide in shoulder motions
Domination of pecs, lats and trees major over subscap.
Humeral Superior Glide / elevation syndrome
excessive superior, insufficient inferior glide of humeral head
insufficiency of rotator cuff because of weakness
look at recruitment patterns or tears
Humeral Medial rotation syndrome
Excessive medial rotation
internal rotators dominate external rotators
Humeral depression syndrome
Excessive depression of the humeral head
depresses compared to ideal acromial location
Humeral Hypomobility Syndrome
loss of motion in shoulder, typically in capsular pattern
Associated with Adhesive capsulitis
Tissue impairment
tissue is usually stressed by trauma or surgical procedure
cannot tolerate typical movement examination
Not related to chronic pain condition
Nerve entrapment syndrome
nerve entrapment due to contraction or stretch of muscles
C/o pain loss of strength, loss of sensation
Radial tunnel, PINS, pronator syndrome, anterior interosseus nerve syndrome
Wrist extension with forearm pronation syndrome
overuse of wrist extensors and pronators
lateral elbow pain provoked in lifting and gripping
Wrist flexion and forearm pronation syndrome
medial elbow pain provoked in repetitive activities of flexors and pronators
