A protective device that covers the teeth and gingiva to prevent injuries to the teeth and associated tissues.
A flexible appliance that is worn in contact sports to protect teeth and jaws from trauma

To decrease the stress and absorb the force generated by impact sports on the oro-facial structures
Acts as a shock absorber
Prevent or minimise consequent injury to the teeth and associated structures.
Can reduce chin-hit concussions

When to use a mouthguard
Contact sports, collision etc

What age group has the most oro-facial injuries?
13-17 years
