A
A pointing device used to move a pointer on the screen and to make selections.

What does the bottom of the mouse house?
A
The bottom of a mouse houses a rotating ball or an optical sensor that tracks movement and controls the location of the pointer. The one, two, or three buttons on the top of the mouse serve different purposes for different software.
