Mountains and People. Flashcards

1
Q

How are fold mountains formed?

A

Destructive:
Where two plates meet, the heavier continental plate goes underneath the lighter oceanic plate. This causes the oceanic plate to have a lot of pressure going upward which then creates a mountain e.g. Andes.

Constructive:
Where two continental plates meet and force eachother upwards.

Both form anticlines and synclines.
