What happens to the temperature as you climb up a mountain and how much degrees does it change?
As you climb it gets colder and be rainy. And as you keep climbing it might be snowy and freezing cold. The temperature changes 3 degrees every 1000 feet in elevation as you move up a mountain.
Why do mountains need their own climate type?
Because the climate changes as you move up the mountain. At the base (bottom) it might be sunny, but as you climb up the mountain, it gets colder and be rainy.
Describe the mountain precipitation
The amount of precipitation in a Mountain depends on the elevation. For example, he land around he base of a mountain is dry, but snow may cover he top of a mountain (at the peaks).
