Q

EBs

A

End-binding proteins. These recognize a GTP-tubulin-related structural conformation enriched at the ends of dynamically growing microtubules and recruit proteins with either 1. A CAP-Gly domain or 2. A SxIP motif - to the microtubule plus end.

Q

CLIPS

A

Cytoplasmic linker proteins. They have a CAP-Gly domain which binds to 1. the C-terminus of alpha-tubulin, 2. EBs - EB1 and EB3.

  • CLIP-170
  • CLIP-115

Q

Lis1

A

Another +TIP, and a dynein regulator. 4 things to know about lis:

  1. Dynein regulator
  2. Associated with lissencephaly
  3. Associated with neuronal migration
  4. Associated with retrograde transport

Q

Dynactin

A

Enhances dynein processivity, mediates cargo interactions, promotes efficiency of retrograde transport, necessary for transport initiation in Drosophila
