A quantity that has both size and direction
Vector
The rate at which a velocity changes over time
Acceleration
A push or pull; something that changes the motion of an object.
Force
The overall force acting on an object when all of the forces acting on it are combined.
Net force
A scientific law stating that objects at rest remain at rest, and objects in motion remain in motion with the same velocity, unless acted on by an unbalanced force.
Newton’s first law
The resistance of an object to a change in the speed or the direction of it’s motion.
Inertia
A scientific law stating that the acceleration of an object increases with increased force and decreases with increased mass.
Newton’s second law
Any force that keeps an object moving in a circle.
Centrapetal force
A scientific law stating that every time one object a force on another object, the second object exerts a force that is equal in size and opposite in direction back on the first object
