Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA)
A
Standardizes settlement practices & ensures buyers understand settlement costs
Lender must present:
- booklet explaining loans, settlement costs and procedures
- Provide estimate of settlement costs within three days of application
- Provide closing disclosure three days before loan consummation
