What was the battle of Coleto?

A

This was when Fannin was ordered by Sam Houston to to retreat to Victoria. Fannin did not retreat until it was too late. After a few miles of traveling he and his troops stopped for a break. Urreas troops surrounded them and were attacked from all sides. He ordered his troops to stand in a square and after the first day of fighting they
had to surrender. Fannin and his troops were then taken captive by the Mexicans.

What was the battle of the Alamo?

A

The battle of the Alamo was a very important part of Texas History. This was when Santa Ana decided that he would attack the Alamo for political reasons and not military reasons. The fight lasted for longer than 13 days with Mexican cannon balls bombarded the Alamos walls. Santa Ana’s soldiers raised a blood red flag and played a special song to warn the Texans of their fate.

A

Fannin was told to sign an unconditional contract saying that Fannins’ troops would be spared. In the end Santa Ana ordered all of the captives to be shot.

A

This was a battle that took place after the Alamo when Santa Anas’ army was defeated. The Mexicans lost because they where ambushed.

A

In one of the treaties Santa Ana agreed to never fight any Texan troops again. He also agreed that he would help Texas gain independence from Mexico.
