contraindications of beta blockers
Asthma, history of bronchospasm, second or third degree heart block, severe peripheral arterial disease, and unstable heart failure. (Relative) Diabetics (block signs of low blood sugar, such as rapid heartbeat), bradycardia, and Myasthenia gravis
special considerations for beta blockers
no abrupt discontinuation
give glucagon for beta blocker overdose

indications for ace inhibitors
hypertension, heart failure, preventing strokes, treating kidney disease w/ patients w/ hypertension
ace inhibitors mechanism
decrease angiotensin II which leads to higher blood pressure
dumps water by blocking aldosterone, takes up K
