Mechanical digestion
Involves physically breaking down food substances into smaller particles to more efficiently undergo chemical digestion.
Chemical digestion
The breaking down of food through the action of enzymes into small molecules that can be absorbed and utilised by the body.
Enzymatic hydrolysis
The process in which enzyme break the bonds in molecules with the addition of water.

Wheat/barley based breads, breakfast cereals, biscuits.

HF corn syrups, honey, sugar free confectionary.
- Alternatives - dark chocolate, maple syrup, table sugar.
High fodmap nuts + seeds
Cashews + pistacchios.
- Alternatives - macadamias, peanuts, pumpkin seed, walnuts.
