The view that pleasure or happiness is the only thing worth valuing.

Fecundity, Propinquity, Intensity, Purity, Duration, Extent and Certainty.
What are higher pleasures?
Intellectual pleasures, e.g. reading.
What are lower pleasures?
Physical pleasures, e.g. eating.

Act Utilitarian.
What is the Equity principle?
Everyone’s happiness counts equally.
What is Act Utilitarianism?
It is applied to each possible act or decision. The right act brings about the maximum happiness for all concerned.

Hedonic, Equity and Utility.
What is the Utility Principle?
The more happiness created, the more morally correct an action is.
What is Rule Utilitarianism?
It is based on general rules and determines whether a rule should be followed. With Rule Utilitarianism, we should consider what will happen if the rule is followed.
What is the Greatest Happiness Principle?
A principle that states that the morally correct action is the action that creates the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people.
