What are moraines?
A
Moraines are landforms that are left behind after a glacier melts.

Terminal moraine
A
Glacial sediment (till) that was transported at the front of the glacier and deposited at the snout.

Medial moraine
A
Glacial sediment is deposited in the middle of a valley, formed by two glaciers joining together.

Lateral moraine
A
Glacial sediment is deposited at the edge of a glacier made up from the material of valley walls

Ground moraine
A
Made of till that was dragged along underneath the glacier. It’s deposited across most of the valley floor.

A
Where rock and debris found at the front of a glacier is pushed downhill by extreme force from moving ice.
