What is the difference between a New Moon and a Full Moon?
A New Moon is when the Moon is blocking the Sun from the Earth(order is Earth, Moon, Sun - from left to right), and a Full Moon is when the Earth is blocking the Moon from the Sun (order is Moon, Earth, Sun - from left to right).
What is happening when the Moon is waning?
When the Moon is waning, the bright side of the Moon is getting smaller.

When the Moon is waxing, the bright side of the Moon is getting bigger.

A crescent Moon is when the bright side of the moon is smaller than a semicircle
