Q

Eutrophication

A

Fertilisers used on the field washed into the water source
Causes rapid growth and overcrowding and many plants die due to the lack of light and food
Microorganisms and bacteria increase due to the extra dead material
The Microorganisms use up the oxygen in the water during respiration
The lack of oxygen causes the fish to suffocate

Q

The nitrogen cycle

A

Plants absurd nitrogen in the form of nitrates
Plants are then eaten by animals and the nitrogen becomes protein
Microbes breakdown waste products and dead animals and plants to form aluminium compounds
Nitrifying bacteria convert amomoniam compounds into nitrate
