A

tachy - light anaesthesia, drug reaction, hypovolameia, heart failure

  • bradycardia - hypoxia, suxamethonium, vagal reflexes
  • artyhmias from fluid shift, MI, electrolyte distrubances

A

-normalise BP, improve oxygenation, administer glyceryl trinitrate

how and what it measures

A
  • measures exhaled CO2, measure by infrared light - amount of light absorbed is dependent on conc of co2
  • detection of correct placement, adequacy of ventilation, malignant hyperpyrexia, detection of air or other embolism
