Monica's lines Flashcards
Rosalie: I’m Rosalie, I guess I’m also a leader, here that is.
Monica: Monica. I’m just Rosalie’s friend.
Johnny (Interrupting): And I’m Johnny. So, do you guys have any… like… able-bodied people?
Monica: Excuse me?
Rosalie: Oh, he seems nice.
Monica: So does this mean you have a plan?
Mel: We’re still working out the details, but yeah. And if we can pull it off, there’s a good chance that things can go back to how they were.
Monica: No N.M.E?
Rosalie: Well that is definitely a pickle. […] That doesn’t mean that they will want to though.
Monica: I think it’s at least worth a shot. Who knows who might agree?
Rosalie: Well I have the most medical knowledge here. […] As much as I’d love to help, I can’t risk the Hospital like that.
Monica: And I’m one of the few people who are able to contribute around here, I was planning on going into the medical field so Rosalie and I are kinda the brains of this operation. It’s cool of you to be doing this though.
Rosalie: I don’t think so, sorry.
Monica: Actually, I might know someone. I’ll be right back.
Mel: That means they’re strong. Not weak. (Monica and Dorian enter)
Monica: Mel! This is who I was talking about. This is Dorian, my boyfriend.
Dorian: Jesus, that’s bold, why now?
Monica: Just listen to them, Dorian.
Dorian: Woah, I never agreed to being a part of this.
Monica: Dorian…
Dorian (to Monica): You can’t be serious.
Monica: Please, just listen.
Dorian: Well, I appreciate the offer but I think I’ll sit this one out.
Monica (firm): Dorian. (step away) Do you really want to risk me dying in childbirth because the best medical option here is a teenage girl without a medical degree?
Dorian (Feeling stupid): No.
Monica: Do you want to raise a child in a world where a bunch of morons in a Costco choose if we get water or not?
Dorian: No.
Monica: Then do something about it. This is your chance, our chance, to give our kid a normal life. Don’t throw that away.
Dorian: But what about you? I don’t want to leave you. Not like this.
Monica: I’ll be okay. Trust me. They need more help than I do. (beat) Monica: Please, this is bigger than us, and you know that. Believe in something Dorian, do something about all of this.
