Sucrose
Sucrose -The scientific name for table sugar
What does combustion create?
Combustion produces energy, carbon dioxide, and water.
Name three things that are called Maronutrients
Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are called the macronutrients
what arre simple Carbohydates called?
Simple carbohydrates are called monosaccharides. They are also called simple sugars.
what do monosaccharides become when two of them are linked together?
Two monosaccharides link together to become a disaccharide. which is a carbohydrate
what method do all life forms have?
All life forms have a method by which they extract energy from their surroundings and convert it into energy that sustains them.
The First StepsTo Combustion:Glycosis
Glucose is broken into two parts. This produces two smaller substances,Hydrogen, and some energy.
The second step to Combustion: The Krebs Cycle
The two parts of the broken glucose are used to make energy, Carbon Doixide, and more energy. Oxygen is required for this to happen.
The Third Step to Combustion: Electron Transport System
The Hytdrogen that was produced in steps 1 and 2 combine with oxygen. This prouduces water and a large amount of energy.
what are Protiens made of?
Protiens ar made of long strings of Amino Acids
