IV = A variable the researcher has deliberately manipulated. DV = A variable which is directly affected by the IV.

A set of predictions (based on theory) to test in an experiment.

To concisely summarise a collection of data in a quantifiable form.

Mathematical models used to analyse data from a sample of people in order to make inferences about a population.
