Conocer means to know a person or place in present, in preterit:
It means to meet or to have met someone
Conocer preterit conjugation:
conocí, conociste, conoció, conocimos, conocieron
dar (to give) in the preterit
Yo di, tu diste, ella dio, nos. dimos, ellos dieron

¿Qué? can normally be used as the English _____? while ¿cuál(es)? can normally be thought of as the English ______ with some exceptions.
¿Qué? typically replaces “what”, while ¿cuál(es)? replaces “which”
Exceptions where cuál(es) is used as “what”-What is your phone number?
You would say “Cuál es tu numero de telefono? bcause there are technically many different phones numbers, which means there is a selection.
