overall incidence is <5%
RFs: similar to incisional hernias after open surgeries

How do you close fascia at port sites?
A
- Open techniques
- Laparoscopic assisted techniques: Carter-thompson or Keith needle
- Laparoscopic techniques: Suture fascia closure intrabdominally
- Visualization of fascia is poor, so hard to ensure fascia closure
