that their skills are underutilized by the assigned task.
Distinguish between monitoring and controlling as they relate to project
management.
Monitoring is the process where variances from plan in schedule, budget
or deliverables are identified. Controlling involves the actions that are
taken to move the project back on course once monitoring has identified
variances from plan
What are the three main areas that must be monitored for variances
throughout the project?
Deliverables, schedule and budget.
When creating a work effort analysis schedule, what is compared against
planned hours to identify variances?
The estimated hours required to complete the task are compared against
planned hours.
What type of chart is useful for illustrating the planned schedule against
actual progress?
The Gantt chart.
What is the main use of the overtime analysis schedule?
To identify team members that have worked more and less hours than
were planned so that work can be reorganized in a more balanced fashion.
What is the purpose of the project progress report?
The purpose of the progress report is to provide stakeholders with the
information they need to understand the progress the project has taken
over the reporting period and also to highlight and explain any areas where
the project execution does not match the project plan.
What are the two different types of scope changes?
Mandatory and optional.
