PRIMARY GROUP

integral part of who he/she is.
IN-GROUP

disdain or competition in relation to an out-group
OUT-GROUP
the social group that people
use as the standard of comparison to
themselves. It could also use as a reference in
decision making and evaluate choices.
REFERENCE GROUP
people who are in the same place at the same time, but who do not interact
or share a sense of identity.
AGGREGATE
Is the smallest possible
size of a group
consisting of two
members.

CHALLENGES OF DYAD

COALITIONS
It is unavoidable to
have a faction within a
larger group, or internal
faction.

CHALLENGES OF COALITIONS
It pertains to people who share similar characteristics but are not tied to one
another in any way.
CATEGORY
These groups serve as instrumental function rather than an expressive one, meaning that their
role is more goal- or task-oriented than emotional.
SECONDARY GROUP
