MODULE 4.04 SPECIFIC TRAINING IN SOCCER TWO PART 1 VIDEO / SOCCER-SPECIFIC TRAINING II Flashcards
What are position games for?
Unlike rondos which are used to practice the player’s own elements,
position games are fundamental so that players learn to interact with
each other and understand and practice playing.
What is Effective and efficient communication in position games?
- Interaction
- Ball
- Environment
- Game situations
If we get everyone to observe the same phenomenon in different ways, we achieve
communication that is as efficient and effective as possible. In order to do this, we
must aim for the players to learn what those possibilities are in the vicinity of the ball
where there’s a better chance of maintaining possession and the way we should do
it if its really the intention we have at that moment. And then, how we are to interact
when we’re further away from the ball in order for that probability to continue to be effective.
How do we Control the rival?
- With the ball, we always try to take control of the game and according to the intention
that we have at each moment, the main objective is always to try make the rival do
something we want them to do. If we want to maintain possession of the ball, we try to
lure the rival into spaces nearby. When we achieve that, we try to take the ball into
spaces where we have more superiorities.
- If we are constantly able to achieve these general objectives in possession it
means we are able to dominate the game at every moment and in the event
that we lose the ball, we can recover it as quickly as possible. These exercises are
very necessary for players to experience many situations that are very different.
Benefits of position games.
Players must see the possibilities that each player has when he/she receives the ball,
and, on the day of the game, since they’ve already experienced very similar situations
in training, try to be capable of solving these situations that they’ve practiced in training.
