IRB Requirement:
Ethical Justification:
Dissemination plan:
IRB Requirement
- Research: IRB review always required
- EBP: IRB typically not required
- QI: IRB typically not required
Ethical Justification
- Research: Ethically justified by weighing risks to individual vs. societal benefits from the development of new knowledge
- EBP: Considered an expectation by profession to improve clinical practice
- QI: Considered an expectation by society for continuous improvement
Dissemination plan
- Research: Publication and presentation reported as an IRB-approved research study
- EBP: Internal communication, publications and presentations/posters at professional conferences
- QI: Internal communication, publications and presentations/posters at professional conferences
