MODULE 3.05 Rondos to maintain possession of the ball. / A METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH TO PREPARING FOR COMPETITION Flashcards
Why should each player be able to identify
that each action is performed optimally?
Its not about playing to avoid individual failure,
but everyone maintaining possession of the ball.
One is to play so that those of us who are outside the rondo, in the
position stage, play to keep the ball, not to lose it. This is a very
significant distinction, because intrinsically it makes the player
aim for each of their actions to give better conditions to his/her
teammate for the pass his/her teammate receives to be much
better than the one he /she received in an attempt to facilitate
his/her teammates next pass. That’s why it’s very important not
to play to not fail but rather to play so, between all of us,
we can all keep the ball.
Why is it important that there always be pass sequences that
alternate between nearby teammates and far-away teammates?
Where the emphasis is placed on the sequence of
passes and circulation of the ball.
If we always play with teammates nearby, its much easier for the
defending players to recover the ball.
- It is important to develop sequences of passes between players close
to one another in order to maintain possession of the ball, and then
pass to players on the other lines.
- We try to alternate short passes with second-line players instead
of always trying to achieve situations of equality, we always try to
make sure there’s a third player, and from here, the combinations
that occur are with 3 players, not just two.
- We can take advantage of situations of numerical superiority in
order to maintain the ball on the side its on. After that, we also
have to see that our players are in constant motion in order to
generate passing lines. If we do rondos with 3 or 4 players on
the outside that means the possessor must always have 3 or 4
passing lines in constant motion for his/her teammates.
