Examination, identification & handling of exibits are important aspects of any investigation.
Prior to leaving the crime scene, the following matters should be considered.
- Nature of report
- Offenders location
- Offenders discription

- DEALING WITH EVIDENCE AND EXIBITS
A
Exibits may mean objects, documents, and weapons produced in court of law to prove a connection between defendants and the crime.
- Traces offender as an important link
Constitution Sec 37 ( 4) (a). Innocent until proven guilty.
- Endeavor to obtain the best evidence.

- IDENTIFY AND INTERVIEW SUSPECT/ OFFENDER
A
- The suspect/ offender fled the scene
- Complainant / aggrieved relatives brought the suspect in.
- Interview the offender. It’s best to get a story from the complainant/ any other witness

A
- Identify potential witnesses as early as possible and get their names, contact, and address immediately at the scene.
- Prevent witness leaving the scene until you establish contacts
